550 acres. This century family ranch is very private, yet is only 45 miles southwest of Des Moines Iowa, and west of Winterset Iowa. We are looking for a small group of hunters to buy Seasons. We have a time slot for bow hunting, or muzzel loaders around 1 November during prime rut. One group for first season Shotgun. Middle River hits us on two sides and we have no roads running through us. 150+ acres of heavy timber, the rest is in CRP, and pasture/hay. We have stands up...trail cams...and personal scouting...we know what is in there! We would prefer...long term relationships with hunters is our wish. This is truly a wild and natural landscape...prime for hunting. We are an all natural...organic grass finished cattle operation. A working ranch. We are also promoting managment practices to increase the pheasant population. We used to be the best county in Iowa for Pheasant...but thanks to industrial agriculture...we have lost habitat for nesting in Iowa. We are dedicated to the preservation of natural habitat...yet have found the balance of raising grass fed beef..instead of corn...soybeans.... Bring back the prairie is our goal.
